More Baby Props

So nice to have my own precious baby model on hand... =)
Finally got my flower pot. And I picked up a couple of these cool tubs from Target - got a raspberry one and a bright aqua color. Very cute.

Sisters

My sweet girls. Occasionally they do even get along. Lila's turning TWO has been a bit of a challenge for us. She has somewhat of a mean streak in her that we're trying to nip in the bud. She does have her sweet moments, of course. She's so full of personality & is a favorite to all around her. Mallory is a good big sister and puts up with a lot - not as much as she should all the time, but I guess that's a lot to ask of a 5 year old. I love moments like this, though, when they're getting along & playing well together.

These boots are made for dancing...

Nothing cuter than a ballerina in rain boots. =)

Something is fishy here...

Here are my attempts at my new photo editing "trick". Yes, those are fake fish... but the water is real! Lila was so cute... I said "Look at the fish in there - do you see it?" and she was pretending there really was a fish in the water. The results were pretty cute, I thought.

In Bloom

Yes, I'd probably be considered a cruel mom at this point... but at least she's a GIRL! =) A friend of mine made this flower hat for me, and I couldn't wait to try it out. I plan to get a big flower pot to stick her in, but haven't made it to the store yet.

ISN'T SHE PRECIOUS!!!???

Slip, Slip, Slip & Slide....

Kev shows the girls how it's done...
No further comment. =)

By jove, I think she's got it!

It took until the next to last game of the season, but Mallory finally found her groove. She got a hit both times at bat tonight - and on the first pitch each time! This is a major accomplishment, because her hitting hasn't been very strong at all this year. Her motivation? A trip to get ice cream if she hit the ball... and practicing for an hour with mom this afternoon didn't hurt either. We were all so proud! Everyone in the stands was cheering, and she was jumping up and down on first base - she was so excited. =)

Laughing & Looking into the Camera

I've been eyeing an online photography course for a LONG time now, and I just bit the bullet & am finally taking it! It's so exciting! The course is specifically on Children's Photography & the instructor is an author of a book I have that I like, so I'm really stoked about the class. We have an assignment each week. This week's assignment was to take a picture of a child laughing & looking directly into the camera. Here were my two favorite submissions, along with one of the "before" pictures of her not looking into the camera...

Instructors Comments: " POW!!! all three of these are so good, it was hard to choose one for photo of the week! ultimately, I chose this one because it has a great immediacy about it and she's upsidedown, which is always funny! you have a FABULOUS connection with your sub in all of these --when i'm looking at these shots I feel like she is looking RIGHT STRAIGHT INTO MY EYES!!! I love the compositions on the first and third shots --you have a real eye for the informal balanace and really GUTSY tight crops --KUDOS!!!"
