What can I say? I have cute kids.

Yesterday the girls were down at the studio and wanted me to take some pictures of them. Mallory especially wanted pictures with her umbrella - all her own poses of course. While I was taking Mallory's pictures, Clara walked in and plopped down on the backdrop, gave me a goofy grin and said "CHEEEEESE."

Another sleeping picture...

I know I just posted a sleeping pic of Lila recently, but it's just so cute... Here she is conked out in front of VeggieTales one evening. Notice the Dora pajamas - a new favorite handed down by our friend Morgan. =)

And they're off...

It's that time of year again... although I'm beginning to wonder if there's ever going to be much of an "off season" in terms of softball around here. Mallory's on the Gators this year, and Kevin is coaching again. And not to brag, but WOW... what an improvement over last year Mallory has made! She's doing STELLAR! She hits the ball every time up to bat, and usually quite well. She's playing short stop this year, and she's doing an awesome job fielding! SHe hardly ever lets a ball get past her! We're so proud of her, and she's having a great time - which makes it worth the crazy practice schedule to me. Oh, and yes, that's her at the top of the batting order! =)

Back in the Saddle...

I finally picked my camera back up today - although I didn't remember it being this heavy! It's amazing how fast it seems Clara is growing. Just since I went into the hospital she's doing so many new things. Her latest "thing" is feeding herself. She's getting quite good at it. Here she is going at some yogurt. I was actually going to try to get a picture of her feeding herself, but when she saw the camera, she stopped, smiled, and said "CHEESE". That's my girl. :)

And of course, when I took the picture of Clara, Lila said "Take a picture of ME, Mommy!" So here's Lila eating some green Jello.

And here's one of the girls from before my surgery. I thought it was so sweet how Mallory was sitting there reading a book to her sisters.

Update

I got the pathology report today. It was cancer. Specifically "Renal Cell Carcinoma - Chormophobe type". It's a rare type of kidney cancer. It only occurs in about 5% of kidney cancers. But, its prognosis is good. It rarely recurs or spreads, and they got all of it. There were no cancer cells in any blood vessels or anything else they took samples of. So it was confined to the kidney. I have to go for my 6 week post op visit on March 7th, then will go for scans every 6 months for the first year and then once a year until they decide to "let me go". The PA told me that if you have to have cancer, this is the kind to have. :)

Physically I'm doing good. Still pretty sore - especially at the end of the day, but compared to a week ago today, MUCH better! I can sleep on my side now and don't wince every time I move. I'm up and about more, so things are good. We have been so blessed. Had homemade lasagna for dinner that someone else cooked. YUM. (Thanks, Steph!)
